Richard works predominantly on monthly small business accounting and consulting engagements, flow-through entity income tax return preparation, and individual tax return planning and preparation. He also has extensive experience performing Audit and Assurance engagements and assists our team regularly with these projects.
After graduating high school, Richard enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served for six years. During his service, Richard was assigned to assist in the construction and performance testing of the USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) aircraft carrier.
After his service, Richard came back home to Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky where he obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors in Accounting. Richard began his public accounting career with a small Lexington based firm, working primarily in the areas of audit, taxation, and accounting services. During this time, Richard obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and gained experience in a variety of for-profit industries and not-for-profit organizations. Richard joined Besten & Dieruf, PLLC in 2019.
